When discussing valve lock groove heights, its essential to understand the relationship between groove location on the lock and the resulting installed height for the valve spring. Below, youll find a valuable reference that demonstrates how the groove position on the lock affects its placement on the valve.

PAC Racing provides a variety of groove heights to assist with retainer to rocker clearance and easy modifications of installed heights based on valve train needs. This flexibility can help minimize the need for shorter or longer valves, ultimately saving you money as a racer.

Additionally, PAC offers custom locks tailored to your unique specifications and needs.

Feel free to contact us to discuss your needs.

Awesome products. Got a full set in the trailer.

Throwback Thursday!

Todays nostalgia takes us back not only to the history of a PAC Racing project but also to the legacy of motorsports. Here’s a glimpse of the valvetrain from the 1962 Maserati Tipo 151—a car built with one goal, to conquer Le Mans.

The valvetrain features 2 double torsion (mouse trap) springs, each spring intricately crafted by hand. Yes, you read that right—by hand! We wish we had captured this remarkable process on video; it’s a true work of art!

When we took on this project, we assumed the car was being restored for a museum, as we were informed it was the last of its kind. How wrong we were! About a year later, the owner surprised us with photos of him driving this beauty to its limits. This industry is fueled by passion and the thrill of speed!Image attachmentImage attachment+Image attachment
